| 2002 - Phuket |

Phuket 2002 was a monumental occasion for Asian GAA with the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese in attendance at the finals proving that we were on the map. Japan arrived full of confidence until they came up against the first Shanghai side to appear at the games who brought their 2-year unbeaten record to an end. This of course gave confidence to the other teams and Seoul Gaels, competing in their first tournament went on to win for the first time. Singapore were once again beaten in the final - a recurring theme for years to come!!! This was the first year of the Seoul Gaels 3 year dominance. And nearly the first year where any teams did any actual training for the games also!!! The Japan Ladies wrestled the Ladies cup from Hong Kong in a keenly contested final. Singapore Gaelic Lions won both the Men's & Ladies Plate.
