| 2004 - Hong Kong |
|
2004 saw a return to Hong Kong for the biggest and best quality AGG to date, where the games were held over the weekend of 9th - 11th of October. Over 32 teams from 10 Asian Countries competed in the largest Irish gathering in Asia. The big story in 2004 was the Toucan being kidnapped for the second time, this time by Shanghai Saints from Hong Kong. The Toucan was returned to its rightful owners and thus Japan spent all weekend celebrating and the Ladies lost their crown and the lads spent the weekend looking over their shoulders. Singapore once again showed they were he most consistent team in Asia by reaching another men's final, but weren't to deny Seoul Gaels the first 3-in-a-row in the Derek Brady Cup. In the Ladies Cup, the hosts met Singapore in the final and came away victorious for their 4th Asian Championship & Hong Kong also clinched the ladies Plate. Beijing GAA scored the Men's Plate, while Singapore won the Ladies Bowl.
