In the Derek Brady Cup, Singapore and Hong Kong faced off in the Final - a line up that was to be repeated until 2009. Hong Kong turned on the style and took the level and standard of the competition up several notches and ran out easy winners of their first Derek Brady cup since way back in 1997. Shanghai won the Men's Plate. In the Ladies Competition - the girls from Dubai also began a period of domininance with a hard fought win over the Hong Kong Ladies that went to extra time - sending the Ladies Cup to the Middle east for the first time. The Japan Ladies won the Plate and Taiwain Celts won the Bowl. And for the first time in many a year, the Toucan didn't make the games this time.
