| 2009 - Bangkok |

The Games were opened at the Dusit Thani Hotel on Friday 16th. The 2009 games brought record numbers of teams from all over the region and as with each year the standard and competitiveness increased once again. The games were quickly re-named the Asian Rainy Games however, as the weekend's schedule was at the mercy of monsoon condititions in Bangkok with play stopped for large portions of Saturday and Sunday. However, thanks to some re-working of the schedule and the co-operation of the clubs, all competitions were decided over the weekend with the exception of Hurling as conditions made it impossible to play. The charities for the 2009 games were The Human Development Foundation, Preda Foundation and the Good Shepard Sisters, Bangkok. At these games we welcomed Pat Quill of the Ladies Association along with Micheal O'Muircheartaigh, who was made Patron of the Asian Gaelic Games at the closing ceremony on Sunday night. In the Men's Football all eyes were on the 3 time Champions, Hong Kong GAA, who despite a shaky Saturday made it through to face Seoul Gaels in the Final. Seoul battled hard and had HK on the ropes but a point in the dying seconds of the match clinched the 4-in-a-row for them. Arabian Celts clinched the Men's B Cup against Singapore's B team in the near darkness at the end of Sunday. Newcomers Suzhou won the plate and Seoul Gaels B won the Bowl. In the Ladies competition Singapore Ladies overcame champions Dubai to win their very first Ladies Cup. The Ladies Plate also went to Singapore and Shenzhen Celts won the bowl. The closing cermony was held at the Dusit Thani hotel where the All-Star awards were presented this year to both A and non-A players. Club of the year went to a very deserving Dubai Celts, Coach of the year to Declan from Shanghai. The winner of the Alan Power MVP Trophy was Willie Murray from Hong Kong, while Tessa McGovern was Ladies MVP.
