Location and Facilities
We have a new location this year. The 2013 Asian Gaelic Games will take place at Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya, just south of KL. The layout and setup will be similar to last year, but we’ll provide more information closer to the date of the games.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Apparently the fancy dress theme for the closing ceremony is the most anticipated bit of information each year for the AGG. Without further ado let me put all your minds at ease and formally announce that this years theme will be Cartoon Characters. Lots of room for creativity there guys and lots of time to get things sorted. I think I’ll go as Ben10 or Mickey Mouse or He-Man. No She-Ra. Oops. Now I’m confused!
The opening ceremony of the games will be held here on the 11th of October and the closing ceremony will take place here on the 13th of October.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is located 50km south of the city and has good transportation links to downtown Kuala Lumpur.
The KLIA Ekspres links the airport directly to the KL Sentral transport hub in 28 minutes. Trains run at 15 minute intervals at peak times, and at 20 minute intervals at off peak times. The cost of a return ticket is RM70. Taxi coupons can then be purchased for the onward journey to city centre hotels for approx. RM20.
Taxi coupons can be purchased on arrival and the cost of a budget taxi to a city centre hotel is approx. RM80. The travel time to the hotel would be around 60 minutes. This would be the most convenient way to the city.
Airport coaches run a one hourly express bus between KLIA and KL Sentral for RM18. Taxi coupons can then be purchased for the onward journey to city centre hotels for approx.RM20.
From the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT), which services Air Asia and Tiger Airways, taxis or buses can be used for the same price as the main terminal.
The tournament will be held during Malaysia’s rainy season although rain normally comes during the evening or night. Kuala Lumpur is not badly affected by this season, the east cost of Malaysia normally experiences the majority of the rainy season leaving the west coast fairly normal. The facility we are using has a first class drainage system if some downpours do happen.
